How do I choose a spa?Size – Seating – Features – Price Size - Size does not dictate price. Are there any restrictions in space where you are going to put it? Seating - How many people will be using it? Do you want a lounger? Features - What’s important to you?Jet action?Energy efficiency?Filtration?Ease of maintenance?Style? Price - We have 4 different series of spas. There’s a spa in your size and price range. If you want to shop price then start with our 680 series and find one that has the seatingand size you like. They are designed to be less expensive and are great to compare tothe competition.(The 780, 880 & 980 series of spas are going to blow away the competition.)
-
What’s the price range? Our spas range from around $6,000 to $20,000. There are accessories you can add on such as a cover assist lift, steps, Bluetooth stereo.
-
What does it come with?Deluxe SunStrong Cover, Delivery, Set up and Chems Plus you get our personal attention and advice throughout the process.
-
Are spas hard to maintain? Not ours. Depending on the spa you buy we will walk you through a simple maintenance routine. We keep it simple. NO TESTING! Don’t do what your sister or neighbor tells you to do. Use our 1 product for maintaining your spas crystal clear water. Our 780, 880 & 980 series spas are equipped with our “Active Oxygen” UVC, Ozone, Mineral & Smart Chlor sanitizing system that uses active chlorine only when needed. The product we give you will be used once a week (or month) and keeps your water crystal clear.
-
How often are they drained? We recommend every 6 months for 780, 880 and 980 series spas and every 4 months for our 680 series.
-
What’s the warranty? Most of our spas have a 5 year equipment, controls and leak, with a 10 year structural and 7 years on the shell surface warranty. Some are a 3, 5 and 3 warranty. Click here for more details Warranty Coverage Information | SundanceSpas.com | Sundance® Spas

What do we set it on?Deck or 4” concrete slab are recommended but it’s your spa. Just make sure it’s a solid flat surface and it’s at least the size of the spa. 8 ft will be a good size for most of our models. Don’t skimp on it and void your warranty because it wasn’t a solid flat surface. The spa is going to weigh about 4000 lbs with water in it. Most decks will handle the load but if you feel you need more support then just add an extra joist between or next to your existing joists. There are spa pads you can but online but they still need a good base of compacted gravel. Check out EZ PAD EZ PAD® - Hot Tub Spa Pad, Hot Tub Installation Base, #1 Brand (ezpads.com) They are about $600 for an 8ft square area.
-
What do I need for electrical? You will need a licensed electrician to do your hook up. We have a referral list we can give you when you purchase your spa. Most spas are 240V and need a GFCI disconnect near the spa. Your electrician will be able to discuss the code restrictions and the best place to put your disconnect. Some spas are called “plug and play” and can be plugged in to a 115V socket. All of our “Plug and Plays” can also be hooked up 240V to be more energy efficient.
-
How is it delivered? We have a specialized trailer and equipment plus 30 years of experience. We send 2 guys of average strength and intelligence. We can do amazing things but we are not super human. You are responsible for any additional equipment rental, crane service, extra manpower or helicopters. We will be happy to come and take a look at your delivery and let you know if anything extra will be needed.
-
I want it sunk into the deck.No problem but there are a number of things to consider. It is recommended you leave 18” above the deck for easy entry and exit as well as snow removal if it’s not under cover. The most important thing to plan for is unobstructed access to the equipment area. All spas need unobstructed access 2 feet in front of the spa and the entire width of the spa. There are ways to make the deck boards and joists removable. The good thing about buying from us is that we have seen it all, have recommendations and are happy to talk with your contractor and give our advice. Check out the predelivery guide or specs to see your specific model.
-
I want it in ground. No problem – but you still need access to the equipment area. (See “I want it sink into the deck) above. It is recommended you leave 18” above the deck for easy entry and exit as well as snow removal if it’s not under cover. You would be best off to build a short retaining wall out of cement blocks or concrete. Leave an area 2 feet by the width of your spa in the front for equipment access and then cover that space with a removable wood deck that can blend in.
-
I don’t want chlorine. All of our spas are equipped with Ozone and UVC light sanitation that generate “Active Oxygen” to kill 99% of water born pathogens. But you still need chlorine (or Bromine if you prefer). There will be no chlorine in the water while you are in there. Our 780, 880 & 980 series spas are also equipped with a mineral sanitizer and an automatic “Smart Chlor” dispenser that uses active chlorine only when needed. The product we give you will be used once a week (or month) and keeps your water crystal clear.
-
What do I have to do after you leave?Call the electrician so they can hook it up. Fill the spa up to the pillows and walk away for 6 hours. (Let the spa do it’s thing.) You just put in 45 degree water and the spa thinks its freezing so its going to go into it’s “freeze protection” mode. After that it will go into it’s “Cool” mode. Pumps will come on, warnings will flash, and red light will indicate a problem. As the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy says “DON’T PANIC” Just walk away. After about 6 hours the spa will have settled down. Now, just like everything else we buy you get to program it. You’ll even get to choose the language. Our spas have “Reminders” which are timers to remind you when to change the filter or drain the water. You have full control over those settings as well.
